"At Home In Nature" Gallery Exhibit & Presentation

Stop by the Lakewood Memorial Library during the month of October to see our photography exhibit, “At Home in Nature,” which showcases some of the amazing flora and fauna that is at home in Chautauqua County. The exhibit features works by photographers Twan Leenders (who is also our director of conservation), Jan Bowman, and Jeanne Wiebenga (who are also two of our board directors). The exhibit is free and open to the public.

Each of the species highlighted in the exhibit has a story to tell. They are all biological indicators, species whose unique environmental requirements give us a glimpse of how our local nature is doing. We use this information to not only identify the ecologically most valuable pieces of land in the county but also to guide many of our management decisions and our habitat restoration efforts.
